Sitka Flash and Stormfont Gaiter Review

Sitka Flash and Stormfont Gaiter Review

One of the gear items that has made a big difference for me in the backcountry is gaiters. Wearing gaiters can really make things more comfortable and limit the amount of stops on the trail and overall company.

During the early season wear the Sitka Flash Gaiter for anything that involves the mountain or trail. I usually wear a low trail running shoe or a breathable boot like the light hiking boots. Depending on the temperate and terrain I will wear either shorts or pants. In both cases I wear the gaiters to keep my shoes/boots clean this allows me to get into position quickly.
Later in the season I wear the Sitka Stormfront Gaiter over my pants and boots to keep everything out! They work well when descending steep faces by keeping twigs, leaves and dirt out of your boots. They work even better on a late season hunt keeping rain and snow out. This allows me to wear a heavy hiking boot like the Scarpa or Vasque Boot – and not have to mess with heavy snow boots.
