It’s been over a month since we’ve sat down and recorded a podcast. I probably more than anyone else am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things, but I figured I’d lend some insight into why we’ve been slow about releasing new content.
Simply put, my wife and I are in the process of moving. Our house is set to close the end of February (God willing) and we’ll be moving 30 minutes South to the town of our origin. We’re excited to be closer to both of our families, and as a bonus, it will put us closer to the Merrow family. It was last year this time that Kevin and Lindsay were en-route to their new homestead. It was a move that took our families from living 30 minutes apart to an hour and fifteen minutes. It’s a major reason we didn’t get to spend as much time in tree stands together this year, why we worked on separate films using 95% of our individual footage, and why the podcasting slowed down considerably. Looking forward to being back in his neck of the woods.
Though the moving decision had nothing to do with Tradgeeks, It will benefit our ability to put together content and get things done.
#1. Kevin works 5 minutes from where I will be living, and where I’ll have my studio set up. We’ll be much better positioned to podcast, produce product review videos, shoot our bows, and just get back into the regular swing of hanging out. 🙂
#2. I’ll be 10-15 minutes from areas that we have hunted together in the past, verses a 45 minute drive (in the opposite direction from work), so we’ll be able to spend a lot more time in the same tree come hunting season.
Though it’ll be a weird feeling walking away from our first house, I’m stoked on the new experiences that will come as we position ourselves and our family to be able to adventure more. Hoping/Praying for a quick and painless moving process.
